The
Planning/Zoning & Code Enforcement Department is dedicated to
working to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens
of Swansboro and its jurisdiction by providing safe and reliable
public infrastructure, safe homes and workplaces, and creating healthy
and attractive neighborhoods within the Town's jurisdiction.
The department
is comprised of the individual entities of Planning for the
Town’s future growth and the orderly development. Zoning, a
land use management organization designed to protect the Town
identity and the citizens of the Town. Building Inspections
that enforce the NC Building Code through plan review, issuance of
permits, building and trade inspections, control and abatement of
nuisances, the enforcement of local zoning regulations and Flood
and Storm Water Management. The department also provides
assistance to applicants seeking approval from the Town’s advisory
boards such as Board of Adjustment, Historic Preservation Commission, and
the Planning & Zoning Board.
